Text and Materials: Textbook: Numerical Analysis by Burden and Faires 8th Edition Software: We will be using Mathematica primarily but will also examine other software packages.
Course Requirements: · Weekly Homework assignments given in class · Design and execute a project that utilizes the numerical techniques that are presented in class. The project will be due December 3rd · 3 tests taken in class · Final Exam (lasting 2 hours), taken on Thursday, December 17, 1-3 PM
Grading Policy: The Final Grade will be determined by the scale: 100%-90% A, 89%-80% B, 79%-70% C, 69%-60% D, and 59% and below is an F.

Attendance Policy: · While attendance does not factor into your grade, attendance is taken and expected. · Late homework is accepted only at the professor’s discretion. · Exam makeups must be approved beforehand with documentation of a valid university sanctioned excuse. · Bring your university ID card to all exams. · Arrive on time (early) to class because all assignments will be due at the start of lecture. · DO NOT use your cell phone in class. This especially includes texting. Phones should be set to silent mode and put away during class time. I will confiscate your cell phone for the duration of the class period if I see you use it during class. You may NOT use your cell phone as a clock or calculator on quizzes or exams.

Plagiarism is presenting the words or ideas of another person as if they were your own. Examples of plagiarism are (1) submitting an assignment as if it were one's own work when, in fact, it is at least partly the work of another; (2) submitting a work that has been purchased or otherwise obtained from an Internet source or another source; and (3) incorporating the words or ideas of an author into one's paper without giving the author due credit.

Withheld Grades Semester Grades Policy (A-54)
The circumstances precipitating the request must have occurred after the last day in which a student could withdraw from a course. Students requesting a WH must be passing the course with a minimum projected grade of C.
